This site uses as few cookies as it can. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and nothing that follows you to other websites. The only cookies set without asking you are the ones the site cannot work without.

Strictly necessary

These are set whenever you use the site and cannot be switched off. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they do not require consent, because the service you asked for cannot be provided without them.

NamePurposeExpires lfds Keeps you signed in and links your browser to your session. Without it, signing in is impossible. When you close your browser lfds_cookie_consent Remembers the choice you made here, so you are not asked on every page. This is browser storage rather than a cookie, and it never leaves your device. Until you clear your browser data

Analytics — optional

If you accept analytics, we record which pages you visit and where you arrived from, so we can see which parts of the site are useful. This is entirely first-party: the data stays on our own server and is never sent to Google or anyone else.

Visits are grouped by a key derived from your IP address and browser, mixed with a secret and the current date. Because the date changes, the key changes every day — so we can count returning visits within a day, but nobody can link your visits across days or to any other site. Your raw IP address is never stored against a page view.

If you reject analytics, no visit record is written at all. Nothing about the site changes.

What we do not use

  • No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics.
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking buttons.
  • No cross-site identifiers or data brokers.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings, which resets everything — you will simply be asked again on your next visit.
